Step 1 Preheat the oven to 180°C top and bottom heat.
Step 2 Place dates in a small pot, cover with water and cook for 10 minutes until soft.
Step 3 Place the dates with approx. 120 ml of the cooking water in a stand mixer and puree them into a creamy paste (alternatively use a hand blender).
Step 4 Mix flour, baking powder and baking cocoa.
Step 5 In a large mixing bowl, mix the date paste and almond butter together using a hand mixer.
Step 6 Gradually add the dry ingredients and stir. If necessary, add some more date cooking water. The result should be a slightly sticky but malleable mass.
Step 7 Form 15 balls out of the mixture, place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper and press them flat.
Step 8 Bake in the oven for 18-20 minutes.

3 tbsp Baking cocoa (30 g)
